Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić received today at the headquarters of the Federal Government in Sarajevo the representatives of the Organizing Committee of the 22nd World Kickboxing Championship for Alija Ogrić and Salih Mujić and talked about the organization of this championship this year will be held in Sarajevo. Ogrić and Mujić talked with Prime Minister Novalić about the activities they ‘ve done to organize this senior championship competition, under the auspices of the WAKO organization, the strongest kickboxing organization.
“We expect about 2,000 contestants from 80 countries from five continents, and BiH will visit a total of 2,500 world fighters and trainers. We consider it a great privilege and obligation to have organized this important event,” Ogrić said.
The Federal Prime Minister underlined that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, within its competencies and capabilities, helps to hold major competitions.
“The organization of major sports events in BiH is stimulating the development of other economic activities, which is of great importance for economic development both in the FBiH and in the entire country,” Novalić emphasized.
Kick-box is gaining popularity in BiH, and within the Alliance there are about 60 clubs from both entities. A dozen state-level competitions are organized annually, including three state championships.
